Nang Nak is a 1999 Thai supernatural horror film based on the Thai legend of Mae Nak Phra Khanong. Directed by Nonzee Nimibutr, the film depicts the life of Nak, a devoted ghost wife, and her unsuspecting husband, Mak. Mak is conscripted to fight in the Siamese-Vietnamese War and has to leave behind his pregnant teenage wife. After surviving the war and returning home, Mak is unaware that Nak has died and continues to live with her as a ghost. The villagers eventually discover the truth, leading to a terrifying climax.
